Review: Grill Pinz

Grill Pinz are a cool new grilling product from Dan Cranston. He is kicking of a Kickstarter this month to be able to produce these stainless steel cooking Pinz. They are ideally built for grilling but can be used in the oven or where ever you need to hold food together while cooking it. They take the place of toothpicks.

Whether your making jalapeño poppers or bacon wrapped scallops these little pins will take the place of toothpicks. Where toothpicks can catch fire and burn, making them difficult to pull from your food the Grill Pinz won't. They have a large head making them easy to pull using tongs or a gloved hand and you can see them in the food.

Dan's done research into the problems toothpicks in food can cause if they get missed. They can cause injuries and death if not removed. His Pinz helps to eliminate that problem and they just look cool too.
The,pin side view.
Another use I found for them is to mark steaks or other meat so you know which ones need to be medium or rare, which burgers have special run A and which once have the hot sauce. You just stick the pinz I'm before grilling and when you take the meat off the grill you know which is which.

This is a great product and I hope he gets the support he needs on Kickstarter to make it happen.
It earns a full rack on the Gibbs Ribs scale. It is easy to use, durable, easy to clean and a great product for grilling and smoking.
